Deep Imprints

Your Workplace is your Ministry

Will my life make a difference?

The tree on the left has been in Denny Park Seattle for generations. It remains a willing shade and oxygen producer not because it has spread it’s branches to encompass the park (it hasn’t) but because it has sent roots deep.

When I first started this blog almost a year ago, I envisioned a place where we could learn together to leave deep imprints on the world. The picture in my mind was that of a bear, leaving a print in the ground – a big, deep print.

As we work to get to know Jesus more, we also want our lives to make a real impact on those around us. We want to see Him use us to change the world we walk in.

There are days that I wonder if I should ‘put away thoughts’ and just be content to impact my children and husband for Jesus. Some days I even wonder if I am able to do that.

Some of the things that discourage me are silly. Will I be accepted in ministry? Will my field expand? Will I, will I… The truth is that God created each of us for a reason. He put us here on earth, and He put desires in our heart (when we seek Him). So, it is also up to Him to open the doors of opportunity, to expand our field of impact, and to make sure our lives leave deep imprints. Our job isn’t to seek influence, it is to seek Him.

  1. I have been catching up on your blog posts today and have been struck by how similar our thoughts are these days. We seem to be in the same place and asking the same questions. I am sure we are not alone. In fact, I have a friend here locally that I am partnering with on some of these issues and questions. I want you to know, dear friend, that I am always available to partner with and that you are never alone! There is a purpose, a grand purpose, in this time in our lives that is going to prove to be amazing. I truly believe that.
