Perhaps I’ve been under too much stress lately, but I find myself arguing, and cajoling the GPS lady. You see, she is certain she knows where I should be going, yet I know a better route.
Sometimes, I just take a different entrance to the freeway. Tonight, she drove me to someone’s house in a culdesac, and tried to convince me it was Starbucks.
Life makes sense to her because her world is very 2 dimensional. I complicate her world by taking shortcuts that I know.
You probably can see where this is going. See, I often think I know where I am going in life. I devise a course, and figure out the best directions. Then life happens, and I have to recalculate.
Recalculating…recalculating.
Yet God says:
When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the LORD, “and will bring you back from captivity. (Jeremiah 29:10-14)
And Paul tells us: “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 1:6)

Haha, made me laugh. I like listening to others talk to her as well. Oh, for a life in control. Maybe better… under the control of the Master. Thanks for the insight, Kim.
Thanks for the encouragement. Timely words as I “job hunt”!
